Freelance Writer/Editor: 09/04 to present:

Researching and writing a non-fiction book about stay-at-home moms. The project involves conducting 50 to 75 interviews. The proposal is complete. Currently seeking an agent.

Wrote Spring Melt, a 79,525-word novel set in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. Conducted extensive research into Adirondack history and the laws that applied in New York State in the early 1900s and the 1920s.

·The Doctor’s Prescription for Healthy Living, Topanga, California: Researched and wrote two articles for the monthly magazine. One article focused on a new nutritional supplement and its claims. Another question-and-answer article focused a breast-cancer survivor’s experience with perimenopause and menopause.

·Building Pedagogical Curb Cuts, The Graduate School of Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York. Edited a collection of 17 academic essays focusing on teaching methods and theories for grammar, style and content.

·Investigative Reporter: Beats included education, military, crime, courts, municipal government, Native American affairs and general assignment. Worked with team of education reporters to develop state and regional stories and to direct education coverage. Stories often carried on the front page.

·Copy editor: Edited copy for content, style, grammar and spelling.

·Columnist: Researched and wrote biweekly column about the sport of running for The Post-Standard sports section from 1992 to 1996.

·Local Coverage Team: Assisted in development of content and design for new local news section for a weekly, zoned supplement to the Syracuse Newspapers.
